Stellar Scope ("the Service") is a prototype interface for viewing publicly available Stellar network data. This Privacy Policy describes what information the Service handles and how.
The Service does not require account registration, does not collect personally identifying information (such as name, email address, phone number, or government ID), and does not collect private keys, seed phrases, or wallet passwords. You should never provide such credentials to the Service.
When you enter a Stellar public address into the Service, that address is sent to public blockchain data providers (such as the Stellar Horizon API) in order to retrieve and display the on-chain information associated with it. Stellar public addresses and their on-chain activity are inherently public information and are visible to anyone querying the network. The Service does not associate looked-up addresses with your identity.
If you choose to use the "Connect Freighter" feature, the connection is handled by the Freighter browser extension. The Service receives only the public address you authorize Freighter to share. Signing operations, if any, occur within Freighter and are subject to Freighter's own privacy policy.
Like most web services, the Service's hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard request logs (such as IP address, user agent, request timestamp, and requested path) for the purpose of operating, securing, and debugging the Service. These logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary and are not used to build profiles of individual users.
The Service does not set advertising cookies and does not include third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Any local browser storage used (for example, to remember a saved wallet list during your session) is stored only in your own browser and is never transmitted to the Service operators.
The Service depends on third-party data providers, including the Stellar Horizon API and related public endpoints. When the Service queries these providers on your behalf, your IP address and the query parameters are visible to those providers, subject to their respective privacy practices.
The Service does not sell, rent, or share any user information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
